The Soviet Russian chessboard army did not include images of real persons, let alone their cartoon images. These were the general images of people, out of whom the Soviet propagandists created new heroes. These people included the heroes of the October revolution, the Civil war and those who helped establish the Soviet State. The list of such base personalities also included the nations, which opted for the Soviet way of life and united with the new country as Soviet states. They are portrayed on the chess figures in the same manner as they were shown in films, books or on the placards.
